Chapter 13, Item 77a
Gable end terms
The Terms of the Fractable on a Gable End.
The Foot Table, is a Square Corner standing out at the bottom or middle sides of the Gable end.
A Bottle, it is an half Round.
An O-G, is two half Rounde, one turning In, the other out.
A Scrowle, is a work that turns round at the both, or one end, In and out, one contrary to the other.
The Crow Stone, is the top stone of the Gable end, on which the finishing is set.
The Finishing, is the Pinicle, or what thing else is wrought in stone; to set out, or adorn the end of an house, or building.
A Wheeler, are wrought stones that ly levell and streight, yet make outward Angles when other stones are ioyned to them.
A Kneeler, are stones that stand upright that makes a Square outward above, and inward below.
A Pedement, when it riseth to a Sharp point, as in numb. 78.

Window terms
Masonry terms about a Window.
The Sole, is the Foot or bottom of the Window.
The Mullions, the upright Stands of a Window, of some termed Munnsons.
The Jaumes, or Peers, the window Sides.
The Head, the top of the Window.
A Clarester widow, hath no Cross barrs in it, at the third part of its height.
The Trasery, is the makeing of the Top part of the Window into severall Forms and Fashions.
The Vauting, is to make the Jaumes to oversale the Mullions, and that is wrought into several kind of Moundings, and adorned with other worke, as the Master pleaseth to put on.
The Rebates, or Rigets, the places out in the sides of the Mullions to set the Glass in.
