Printers (continued) Book III, Chapter 20, Section 2c Chapter 20, Item 85a Description of mould This is the general description of the Mold, whose intricacy is so much that to speak of its perticulare parts and offices will require much tyme and nothing to my purpose, therefore will referr you to Mr Moxon his Mechanick exercises Vol.2. numb.10. Sect.15. who hath giuen a perticular description of its parts, which I shall but onely name. The carriage, and its square hole. The body in which is a square hole. The male Gage, with its square shank, and male screw. The mouth peece. The Register, with the shoulders, neck, and cheeks, with its screw hole and notch. The Female Gage, the notch or slit in the carriage. The Hages or Hooks. The Bottom plate, with its pin and male screw, and nut with a female screw, and the notch behind. The wood the Bottom plate lies on. The Mouth. The Jaws. The Throat with its Orifice or hole. The Pallat, haueing a square hole, with pin and shoulder to it, at whose vnder end is a screw, with a square nut and screw in it. The nick. The stool. The spring and Bow.
