Chapter 17, Item 37a
Parts of a cuirasse
A Brest plate, or Brest peece, which is the Armoure for the brest from the neck to the midle or wast, in the right side whereof is a rest fixed, which is to stay the launce staffe, and hold it vp.
The Back peece, which is the back Armour to the shoulder parts, to which is fixed two ---- [sic] or strong Leather straps couered in ioynts one ouer an other with Iron plates and studed. By these the back and brest are clasped, or hooked together by hooks or button fixed on the brest plate. And at the midle they are held togather by a strong broad belt: or by the like Leather straps fixed to the back peece at the lower part, which with a Buckle at one end, is made fast ouer the bottom of the brest plate.
The Culets or Gard de Reine or the skirts, which rests vpon the thighs which Armoure keeps and defends the lower part of the brest and thighes. These are put to or taken from the brest plate at pleasure: they hang by hinges to the skirt of the brest peece, or by hookes and holders.
The French call the back and breast, cuirace, from whence we call them corsiets, some corruptly corslets, curets, and curats.

Chapter 17, Item 48a
Leg armour parts
The seuerall parts of the Armour for the thigh: leg: and foot.
The Cullier, or Culliers, are the Armour that couers the thighes and Knees, for the fore parts, the hinder parts, within the sadle, is nothing else, but breeches of Leather.
The Greaves, are armour for the Leggs.
The ---- [sic] are Armour for the feete.
